On this page I would like to create my own Art History with help from everyone who visits this site and reads this. Here you will be able to read my reports and news about the website. Also you can find information about the idea for the site as well as the purposes for creating the site.

Introdution

My name is Denis Stepanov. I am a young art-lover from the Ukraine. I am 25 years old and I live in a small town of Lugansk. Many years I dreamed to create something interesting in the Internet for World of Art. And in July 2006, I founded this website the WorldArtNames.com. A great place in the internet where each artist, art gallery or art related website is welcome to add a link and name to the World Art History!

I am grateful to my parents for their patience and support they have given me over all these years. I want to say thank you to my friend Jack Freeman for help with text translation and correction. Thanks to Alex Tew for wonderful idea. Thanks to Maxim Muhin for the site programming. I am grateful to everyone who help me on my way and who believe in me. Thanks God!

The idea

You will see the Virtual World Map on the main page. This Virtual Map is divided into 5,100 of these 100-pixel blocks (hence there are 510,000 pixels in total). Total Earth square is 510 000 000km2, but it can be very large picture, so I decided to equate 1 pixel to 1000km2. With time I plan to fill out the Virtual World Art Map by the names of artists, galleries, museums and art related websites. Hence, we will have Word Art Map with Art Names (WorldArtNames.com) which is limited by 510 00 pixels/km2. Everyone is welcome to buy my Art pixels, which are available in 100-pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 10x10 pixels).

You can buy as many pixels and add your name as you like, as long as there are some available (see the live stats in the top right corner of the page). When you buy some pixels, you can then display an image/name/logo of your choice in the space you have purchased. You can also have the image click through to your own website. However, only Art websites are allowed.

Your image and link will be on-line for at least 1 year (starting from the day it published). After expiry of the 1 year term(starting from the day it published) you need to pay yearly prolongation fee 10% from purchased pixel quantity, so I can continue displaying your image and link.

The pixels you buy will be displayed on the main page permanently. The main page will not change. So, in the long run, I believe the pixels will offer good value. And you can add your name and link in to the Internet World Art History!

Purposes

The main motivation is to create something interesting in the Internet for World of Art. When I fill out the Virtual World Art Map by the names of artists, galleries, museums and art related websites website will become very popular in the Internet and advertisers will receive a very good traffic (targeted visitors) to their websites. Also I have some interesting ideas I would love to invest some money in. You can read more about my ideas on F.A.Q. page.

Opportunities

I think my website is unique in the Internet and it will be very popular in the further. I has founded this website for World of Art and only for Art! My website provides great opportunity to use modern method of visual advertising in the Internet for any Art website that could potentially be seen by millions of people over the coming years. And donations to charity from advertiser name, that is positively for any organization or person. The site will be online forever, so you can really add your name in the World Art History!

Charity

Money which I will receive by selling visual (pixel) advertising I plan to share with someone who need them. This is the main part of my internet project. I am not decided to whom I will address my charity yet. Probably, I’ll give a choice to the advertisers in my newsletter to whom I need to help. Funds will be able to everyone who needs them to become happy.

I have created a special page ‘Charity’ on my website where I’ll post all detailed information to whom will be addressed my help, how much money I spend on each charity project and how much money I have for charity.

In closing, I want to say that I just started a quest around the world in search of people with vision. People who have a dream to make this world a better place to live. I plan to meet a lot of people on my journey. People who want to live their dream, but who just seen to find the way to concur that challenge. In a words of James Dean.
